“Vasile Goldiș” Western University of Arad (UVVG),

was founded in 1990, is an accredited private higher education institution of public utility, with a tradition of more than three decades in education, research, and innovation. Through the continuous development of its academic programs, research infrastructure, and national and international collaborations, UVVG has strengthened its position as an important academic and scientific center in the Western region of Romania, fully integrated into the European Education and Research Area.

The university has a multidisciplinary structure, organized into six faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Informatics and Engineering, the Faculty of Legal Sciences, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Physical Education and Sports. Its diverse academic offer and the existence of doctoral studies in Medicine, Biology, and Pharmacy create the foundation for developing interdisciplinary teams and training highly qualified human resources for research.

Scientific research is one of UVVG’s strategic priorities, with the university conducting fundamental and applied research activities in the life sciences, biomedical, medical, and pharmaceutical fields, as well as in economic, legal, and social sciences. Research activity is supported by specialized institutes and centers, modern laboratories and infrastructures, and by the participation of UVVG researchers in national and international projects.

A key role in the development of biomedical research is played by the Aurel Ardelean Institute of Life Sciences, which integrates multidisciplinary infrastructure and expertise for advanced research in biology and medicine, the development and validation of new experimental and translational approaches, and the training of young researchers.

UVVG develops partnerships and collaborations with universities, research institutes, medical units, and organizations from Romania and abroad, being involved in research projects and networks that support knowledge exchange, academic mobility, innovation, and the transfer of research results to society.
